Utena: Student Council Saga Lyrics Notes
The following are in order of the duel fought.
The Absolute Destiny Apocalypse
Apocalypse: Cultures all over the world have their own Apocalyptic myths. An Indian myth
says the world is created, destroyed, and recreated over and over again. Brahma creates it,
Vishnu sustains it, and Shiva then destroys it. During this cycle the Four Ages of man will be
repeated. In Christian theology, at the last judgement, all humanity will be judged for their sins
or good deeds. Those who are not worthy will be cast into Hell for eternity, while the
righteous spend eternity in Paradise. The Islamic legend also includes a last judgement, where
at the end the wicked and righteous are separated. Both will cross a bridge to Paradise, but
only the righteous will walk it easily, and the others will fall into the chasm of Hell. Some will
be able to crawl out through repentence and perseverence. At the end of the journey, the just
will drink of Muhammad's Lake and never know sorrow, hunger, thirst, or suffering.
