Jade Emperor
The Chinese deity Yu Huang. He rules the heavens, and those under him have control over thunder, human existence, and the elements. Yelan calls upon him in the first CCS film when she seeks to help Sakura learn why she was summoned to Hong Kong and who it is that brought her.

Journey to the West
From Chris: In Love Hina is the presence of a play enacting the
story of the Monkey King, Son Goku. Of course in Love Hina the story
gets all messed up because the characters can't get along. But it
does have the part where the priest frees Goku from his emprisonment
and takes him with him.

Oolong
Based on Chu Pa-chieh, the Pig Fairy from Journey to the West. He represented the coarser passions. One of Monkey's
traveling companions.
Ox King
From the Demon Ox King in Journey to the West. He is one of the characters Monkey meets and defeats on his adventures.
Son Goku
Based on Monkey, the protagonist of the Chinese story Journey to the West. He represented human nature, and carried an iron wand
which could become invisible or grow until the length stretched between the earth and heaven.
As Goku is based from this story, so all Saiyans have attributes of the monkey. Under a full moon they can transform into a Great Ape which unleashes their full power if their tail has fully grown. Transformations by
full moon of course are popular in literature, such as were-stories or the influence of the moon over magic. During the GT saga, Goku is able to transform into a golden Great Ape by substituting the Earth for the moon while
on another planet.
Jujutsu

Juno
Hera in Greek. Her name comes from the Latin for "vitality of a young woman" (Cappadona, 204). Wife of Jupiter and queen of heaven. She was representative of woman, and was the protector goddess of women during childbirth and marriage. Jun-Jun in Sailor Moon gets her name from her. This is the name of one of the tennyo descendants in the Ayashi no Ceres anime.
Jupiter
Son of Saturn and Ops. Jupiter is the light bringer, bringing dawn and the full moon. His wife was Juno. He gave victory in battle, and was worshipped as such after Mars. He is the god of oaths and truth. The future can be revealed through him. Sailor Jupiter is one of the senshi of Sailor Moon.
